  • Learn about how a microscope works
Connection: 
  • Students will be able to use paper microscopes to examine various items, and see how scientists use microscopes in the real world. 

Circuit Bugs

Objective:
  • Learn about how circuits work​
Connection:
  • Through building circuit bugs, students will be able to learn how electricity flows through circuits.

Twist your Code

Objectives:
  • Learn about DNA (structure and importance)
Connection: 
  • By making their own edible DNA model (with candy), students will be able to see a visual of the double helix.

Salt Painting

Objective:
  • Learn about Osmosis (how salt absorbs water)
  • Learn about the semipermeable cell membrane
  • Learn about the polarity of water
Connection:
  • Students will be able to apply what they learned about Osmosis and the cell membrane with salt painting.

All Mixed Up

Objectives:
  • Learn how chemical bonds work together
  • Learn how wavelengths work when colors mix together
Connection:
  • Through making slime, the activity will show students how bonds work and colors mix.

Vegetable/Fruit Circuits

Objective:
  • Learn about how circuits work​
  • ​Learn about electricity
Connection:
  • Through building electrical circuits with fruits and vegetables, students will be able to learn how electricity flows through circuits.​ ​

Self-inflating Balloon

Objectives:
  • Learn how chemical reactions work
  • Learn about the products and reactants
Connection:
  • Through a self-inflating balloon activity, students will see the product of two reactants during a reaction.

Let it Glow: Paper Circuits

Objective:
  • Learn about how circuits work​
  • ​Learn about electricity
Connection:
  • Students will use simple circuits to create light-up greeting/holiday cards.
